I'm amazed at how well you are taking the change. While I'd like to hallucinate that I'd be as graceful as you, I don't think I would. It just goes to show how amazing you were (and are) as a parent. All those shared experiences made them who they are with the ability to love a person (bio-mom) who wasn't in their life as they grew up. That's pretty flipping cool.

Oh wow! I just found your post and I think we were reading each other's post the same time. Lol! Enjoy the stepparenting journey. No matter what the world says, there's some unspeakable joy in being a stepparent. Only a stepparent can understand what I mean. 😄

I have to admit I had a frog in my throat reading this and the FB post you saw. What a beautiful thing to bring children into the world and acknowledge "they are the best thing that's ever happened," (and they are) for "all" of you. The central focus, the children. Knowing you were able to deliver them to their birth mother as "that best thing," is something that God only knows as incredible beauty, pain and sacrifice on your behalf. I believe you'd do it all again. Perhaps they will bring their mother the beauty she so desperately needed. Sending you big hugs. ox
